  1. It would seem that those that are complaining about the new rules are perhaps not really serious contenders anyway?? Everyone has second thoughts, when we ordered 50 broiler chicks I would wake up in a panic at night wondering if we had done the right thing, but we would never have dreamed of cancelling the order or leaving the seller stuck with 50 chicks to find a home for. It turned out that my foolish worrying and panic was a complete waste of time, the chicks arrived, they grew quickly and where then butchered and put in the freezer, none of my nightmare scenarios ever happened!!
I think putting down a deposit is perfectly reasonable, it is a show of good faith, and when you have skin in the game you are more likely to follow through.

    • That’s what I would think! But it is a caution for those who are taking farm orders, CSA memberships, etc. Get a deposit, at least. I’ve known friends to invest hours in handcrafted items that the “buyer” wouldn’t take at the last minute.
